How it Works
The Inkies is a celebration of storytelling powered by the Tapas community and its experts. Here's how the process unfolds:

Nominations: Tapas users with an active Tapas account can nominate their favorite series during the nomination period. Show your love for the stories that have captivated you!

Selection: A jury of Tapas Story experts will review the nominations and carefully select the top 10 series in each category. Their expertise ensures that the finalists reflect both creativity and excellence.

20%: Performance stats from 2024, including reader engagement and growth.

What are The Inkies?
The Inkies is Tapas’s premier awards event, celebrating the creativity, talent, and passion of its diverse storytelling community. Outstanding comics and novels—crafted by both community creators and premium professionals—are recognized and honored for their impact on readers and their excellence in storytelling.
Who can nominate series for the award?
Every Tapas user with an active Tapas account can nominate their favorite series.
How are the winners selected?
The ultimate winners are determined through a balanced evaluation process:

Which series can be nominated?
Series must be posted on Tapas, and must have published a minimum of 10 story episodes in 2024, from January 1st, 00:00 AM PST, to December 31st, 23:59 PM PST. The category “New Community Series of the Year” requires the series to have posted its first episode within the same timeframe.
A story episode focuses on the storyline of the series; supplementary episodes like Q&As, advertisements, character information, etc are not counted.
I have a Tapas series. Can I nominate it for the Inkies?
Yes, you can! Make sure your series fits with the “Series Requirements” and call for your fans to vote for you! The more nominations you receive, the higher the chance that you will be one of the nominees!
What if I accidentally nominate a series that isn’t eligible?
Don’t worry! We’ll be checking the eligibility requirements and ignore any nominations that don’t fit the criteria. If you are nominating multiple series, your other, eligible nominations won’t be negatively affected.
How are the nominees selected?
The nominees are selected with a mix of user nominations and a jury made up of Tapas content specialists. 10 series will be nominated for each category. A series can be nominated in multiple categories as long as it fits its eligibility criteria.
How are the winners selected?
Tapas users will vote for their favorite nominees from February 10 - February 24, 2025! The title of each category with the most votes will win. The Tapas jury will act as tie breaker, in the unlikely event that titles will receive the same number of votes.
Do I have to nominate a series for all categories?
No, you can nominate only for categories that you enjoy the most! You are able to skip categories if you don’t have a nomination for it.
Are Early Access Series considered Community?
Yes! Early Access series are Community titles which are monetized. If you want to nominate them, please select one of the Community categories.
Are rebooted series eligible?
Yes, as long as 10 story episodes were posted to Tapas in 2024, reboots are also eligible.
